• The Board of Directors of Midwest Anesthesia Consultants will designate an individual responsible for the development and implementation of the Compliance Program.
   
• Standards and policies will guide MAC personnel and clients on proper procedures for documenting, coding and charging for documented medical service.
   
• Ongoing education programs for billing and collection staff will include an initial orientation for MAC employees and introduction education for all newly hired employees.
   
• The program will include provisions for all MAC staff to request and receive guidance and direction on any compliance issue.  Provisions will be made for anonymous reporting of violations or concerns regarding compliance.  Staff will be encouraged to question any activities they feel are at odds with the program.
   
• Regular audits of bills, patient charts and other compliance documents will be conducted by MAC personnel and on occasion, by outside experts.  These audits will be designed to assess the ongoing adherence by personnel and clients to the regulations, guidelines and contractual agreements that govern billing, collection and business affairs.  Audits will identify areas that may need corrective action and the notifying of affected parties.  They may also identify specific issues or procedures that would benefit from review and modification.
   
• When indicated, ongoing education for the implementation of new or revised procedures and regulations will be a part of the Compliance program.  The program Director and Business Manager will continually review sources of news to identify changes in procedures, regulatory requirements, and other developments that will impact the Compliance program.

Midwest Anesthesia Consultants is committed to providing high quality management and billing services to its clients, and to strict adherence to all HIPAA requirements and high ethical standards.  As part of this commitment, we have developed and implemented several quality assurance programs to aid in the review of billing services, and have established and implemented a Compliance Program (including use of certified coders and full HIPAA compliance) to meet our high standards.
